According to the well-known Slovenian proverb, “A palace built stone by stone…”

… the Fairy-Tale Land of Gorajte will come to life for the eighth year.

In Gorajte near Škofja Loka, hidden in a small forest, lies a fairy-tale land where fairy-tale heroes live in charming wooden houses. In the run-up to Christmas, the land and its inhabitants come to life. In this 30-minute performance, your children will journey through 5 different fairy tales, where they will meet numerous well-known fairy-tale characters. At the end of the show, the good old Grandfather Frost visits the children and gives them gifts.

This year, the completely renovated Fairy-Tale Land of Goraj will take you on a journey into the world of children’s imagination for 16 days.

Wise Oak, Papa and Mama Gnome with their little gnomes, the Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Gargamel and Azrael, the witch Hogota, Smurfette, Papa Smurf, and the Smurfs Zmrda, Glavca, Vicko, and Lepi will delight children in the land of fairy tales this year. It’s going to be Smurf-tastically fun!

A lavish set design, magnificent costumes, and beautiful musical accompaniment accompany this year’s journey through the land of fairy tales. Grandfather Frost will once again join the children, accompanied by a fireworks display. The other rich sound effects, along with delightful music and singing, further enhance the fairy-tale atmosphere in this unforgettable fairy-tale land in Gorajta near Škofja Loka.

Visitors to Fairy Tale Land

All children love to visit Fairy Tale Land. From the youngest, who are just learning to walk on their own, to the much older ones, who feel a bit embarrassed to tell their classmates that they’ve been to Fairy Tale Land. Even though it’s already late at night during the second performance, we make sure the little ones aren’t scared at all. Lots of lights, pleasant music, and friendly fairy-tale characters create a cozy, magical atmosphere.

Grandpa Gnome and Grandma Gnome make sure the adults aren’t bored either.

If you want your little one to experience a real fairy-tale land, visit it between December 18 and 28, at 3:00 or 5:00 PM. In December, visits outside of performance times are not possible, as the fairy-tale characters are preparing for their shows and need some peace and quiet.

Access to Gorajte Fairytale Land:

Ljubljana – Škofja Loka

At the roundabout before the town of Škofja Loka, take the second exit toward Kranj. Drive past the shopping center on your left and continue toward Kranj. Use the large church on the main road to your right as a landmark. Immediately past this church, turn left (you’ll see a sign for Fairy Tale Land Gorajte here). Then follow this road to the turn-off for Papirnica, where you turn left—there’s also a signpost for Fairy Tale Land Gorajte here. At the end of the small forest, turn right toward the event venue.

Kranj – Škofja Loka

Drive past the villages of Žabnica-Dorfarje-Forme-Sveti Duh—turn right at the “Pravljična dežela Gorajte” banner (there is a car dealership on the hill before this). Then follow this road to the turnoff for Papirnica, where you turn left—there is also a sign for the Fairy-Tale Land of Gorajte. At the end of the small forest, turn right toward the event venue.
