Forest lakes, boardwalks and Skakavac Waterfall make Jankovac one of inland Croatia’s finest nature trips.
The route uses forest paths and prepared sections, but rocks and timber can be slippery after rain. Check conditions and bring good footwear and water.
Arrive early for a quieter experience, then add local food or another nearby sight to make a full day.
Jankovac lies in a wooded valley where lakes, springs, educational trails and cultural traces meet. The best-known route continues to Skakavac Waterfall, which drops over a limestone step into the forest gorge.
Allow two to three hours for the main circuit including the lakes and waterfall. Steps and damp sections make walking shoes useful even on a shorter family visit.
Spring usually brings stronger water flow, while autumn colours the beech forest. Arrive early on sunny weekends and follow protected-area rules.
