Rinka Waterfall

Rinka Waterfall is an interesting trip idea. This page includes a short description, location, photos and basic visit information.

Rinka Waterfall is one of the most recognisable natural sights in Logar Valley and among Slovenia’s highest free-falling waterfalls. Its water collects from the Okrešelj area, then runs over smaller rock steps and rapids before dropping in a dramatic arc into the amphitheatre-shaped basin below Eagle’s Nest.

Why go

According to the official park description, Rinka has been a natural monument since 1987. The waterfall is not just a viewpoint but part of the wider Logar Valley experience: the Logar Valley Trail leads to it, and this stretch is described as the valley’s most beautiful and most visited section. The hiking path toward Okrešelj and Frischauf Hut also passes nearby and continues into the high mountains.

Getting there

Drive to the end of Logar Valley, where there is a parking area below the waterfall. There is also an information point, Pod slapom, at the site. If you are visiting without a car, check the tourist transport options, because in the tourist season buses run all the way to Rinka Waterfall.

What to expect

This is a good day trip for a short walk, photos and a scenic stop in a protected alpine landscape closely tied to the identity of the Solčava area. The route is popular, so earlier arrival is advisable in the warmer months. Opening times, transport arrangements and any seasonal changes can vary, so check the official site before you go.
