See the limestone towers of Vela draga below Učka. Choose the shorter viewpoint visit or a more demanding canyon descent.
Vela draga is an outing for anyone drawn to unusual rock shapes. On Učka’s western side, slender limestone towers rise from green slopes and can be compared from an arranged viewpoint. The canyon-edge trail explains the landscape rather than simply passing through it.
Information panels link geology with the history of climbing. The viewpoint makes a worthwhile destination on its own; continuing down towards the towers is more demanding. Climbing routes are separate activities requiring suitable skills and equipment.

Start from the signed parking area on the old Učka–Vranja road. At the viewpoint, reassess the weather and the group’s ability before descending. Bring walking shoes and water; wet steps are a good reason to keep the visit shorter.
Outdoor trail with no published ticket-office hours. Visit in daylight and suitable weather; check Učka Nature Park closure notices.
Independent trail access is free according to the official tourism source. Guided visits or other park programmes may be charged separately.
Shorter walk to the viewpoint; the canyon descent is harder, with steps and uneven ground. Not a pushchair route.
The suggested duration is an editorial allowance for an unhurried visit, not an official tour length. For a family outing, choose a few details to explore together and leave time for questions. Before travelling, check current hours, admission and booking arrangements on the official website linked below. Ask the operator about pushchairs, toilets and dog access; their availability is not confirmed in this guide. Follow signs and staff instructions at the site.
