Baredine Cave is an easy day-trip idea when you want a short, guided underground experience and a break from summer heat. The official site describes it as Istria’s first tourist-developed speleological site and a geomorphological natural monument, open for visits since 1995. It sits near Nova Vas, by Poreč, and is part of a broader visitor offer that includes interpretation of the karst landscape and the olm.
The visit is guided. According to the official information, the tour lasts about 40 minutes and follows a 300-metre path through five chambers down to an underground lake 60 metres below the surface. The cave temperature is around 14 °C, so a warm layer and sturdy shoes are recommended. It is a good fit for families and for travellers who enjoy natural sights and short, structured visits.
The cave is open daily from 1 April to 31 October, with seasonal hours: April 10:00–16:00, May/June/September 10:00–17:00, July/August 10:00–18:00, and October 10:00–16:00. From 1 November to 31 March, visits are by prior arrangement. Guided entries run roughly every half hour or more often, depending on visitor numbers.
The operator also runs other visitor content at the site, including Traktor Story. For exact seasonal hours, ticket prices and any policy changes, check the official website before you go.
