Globočak is an 809 m peak in the Kanalski Kolovrat range and a fitting short day trip for anyone interested in the Isonzo Front. The official trail links Kambreško and Srednje and combines ridge walking, local history, and preserved wartime remains.
Along the route and at the summit you can see caverns, trenches, troughs, water reservoirs, and a memorial. According to the official description, Globočak was one of the most important fortified Italian peaks on the Kolovrat ridge during the Isonzo Front because it had a good view over the Soča Valley and the Banjščice plateau. Today, the summit view is partly hidden by forest, so the walk is more about memory and landscape than a big panorama.
The circular trail can be started in Kambreško or Srednje. The official trail page gives a length of 3.6 km, an elevation gain of 164 m, and an estimated walking time of about 1 hour 30 minutes. At the top there is a summit box with a stamp and a logbook. Nearby, visitors can also stop at Lukčeva hiša in Kambreško or the museum collection of Franc Jerončič.
Globočak works well as a half-day outing for walkers who want a compact, history-rich route rather than a strenuous mountain ascent. The ridge setting, wartime remains, and local collections make it a good refresh of a legacy destination for Kam na izlet.
