The source of the Črna River in the Logarska Valley

Profile Description

Shortly below the Rinka Waterfall, the water goes underground and resurfaces in the lower part of the valley. It gushes to the surface due to impermeable Werfen layers and then flows over dark sedimentary clays, which give it its black color. From here on, it flows through a regulated channel all the way to the end of the valley, where it joins the Jezero River, which flows from Matkov kot and marks the beginning of the Savinja River. The area of the Črna spring is located in the lower part of the Logarska Trail, and with its water reflections and soft path, it represents one of the more tranquil and mystical parts of the landscape park. The spring has been declared a natural monument.
