Črna Spring in the Logar Valley

Črna Spring is one of the calmest and most atmospheric spots in Logar Valley. After disappearing underground below Rinka Waterfall, the water reappears in the lower part of the valley, where it rises through impermeable layers and flows over dark sedimentary clays. That geological setting gives the stream its distinctive dark look.

What makes it special

According to the official park description, this is the second spring of the Savinja River. The water continues along a regulated stream channel to the end of the valley, where it joins Jezera from Matkov kot and forms the beginning of the Savinja’s flow. The spring area is part of the Logar Valley Trail and is declared a natural monument.

Why go

This is not a high-adrenaline stop, but a place for a slow walk, water reflections and a quieter experience of the valley. It works well as part of a half-day or full-day visit to Logarska dolina, especially if you combine it with the trail toward Rinka Waterfall or other natural highlights in the park.
