Mediadom Pyrhani – Piran Multimedia Museum

Not long ago, in this very building—the Band Hall—generations of students from the Piran Music School played their first concerts here—including their children, and even their grandchildren! Members of the Piran Youth Wind Orchestra honed their skills right here and performed all over the world—to the pride of Piran!

From now on, too, the many paths leading to Piran will converge at Mediadom Pyrhani, where we will take you on a journey through 20 centuries—from antiquity to present-day Piran—via multimedia presentations, as if in a time machine. We will introduce you to the venues of diverse music and dance festivals, guide you through temples housing precious cultural and sacred heritage and works of art, and invite you along the paths of unique landscape parks with salt pans and breathtaking views of the green-blue landscape, where the charming town of Piran awaits you… The multipurpose hall, suitable not only for lectures but also for film screenings or concerts, can accommodate 50 visitors, who will enjoy high-quality educational and cultural content supported by state-of-the-art technical equipment.

The centuries during which the salt pans were formed and the compact fishing town surrounded by mighty walls developed are presented in two superbly animated films featuring short documentary clips and an engaging 3D film.

We’ll introduce you to the town’s most notable figures, archaeological discoveries, and the pillory, and showcase the most interesting offerings from cultural institutions as well as traditional festivals and cultural events.
